GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Gadsden County Sheriff's Office is receiving reports of scams targeting flood damage victims.
Deputies say scammers have been calling residents and telling them that they will be assessing flood damages at homes.
However, the owners of the homes the scammers are trying to assess are not aware of any damages.
GCSO is warning you to be aware of strangers who come by your homes and those who call you on the phone.
Do not give out any personal information over the phone. If you get any strange calls regarding this scam, deputies are telling you to hang up and call your local police department.
