SUWANNEE COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - A Suwannee County man is arrested after deputies say he shot his father in the face.
He's also facing charges of possession of explosive materials after investigators find bomb making devices in his home.
Deputies say Ronald Cates used a black powder handgun to shoot his father in the face at least three times.
After deputies served a search warrant of his home and car, they found two different handguns in his possession.
Cates is a convicted felon in South Carolina, charged with assault and battery with intent to kill.
Investigators also discovered bomb making materials, including two remote detonators and black powder.
