Department of Education Releases 2015 Grades for Local School Districts

TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Local school districts received their grade Friday as part of the Florida Department of Education's school accountability reports.

The report graded school districts as well as individual schools for the 2014-2015 school year on a scale of A-F.

Leon County and Wakulla County Schools made the grade, both receiving an "A". Others, like Hamilton and Jefferson County Schools, received "D"s. Gadsden County received an "Incomplete", which means there wasn't enough data or there was an issue with the numbers reported.

According to the Department of Education, the grade is based on graduation rates, acceleration exams such as advanced placement tests, and standardized testing scores, including those from the new Florida Standards Assessment.

  • FRANKLIN: C
  • GADSDEN: INCOMPLETE
  • HAMILTON: D
  • JEFFERSON: D
  • JACKSON: B
  • LAFAYETTE: B
  • LEON: A
  • LIBERTY: B
  • MADISON: C
  • SUWANNEE: B
  • TAYLOR: C
  • WAKULLA: A
