ATLANTA (AP) — Former Democratic candidate for governor Jason Carter is returning to his law practice.
Carter says he has been named a partner at Atlanta-based firm Bondurant Mixson and Elmore after taking about a year off to challenge incumbent Republican Gov. Nathan Deal. Carter lost the November election by 8 points.
The grandson of former President Jimmy Carter says he's proud of his gubernatorial campaign and looks forward to getting back to practicing law.
Carter has said he doesn't regret running in 2014 and may appear on a ballot again in the future.
