THOMASVILLE, GA (WTXL) - Two railroad crossings will be receiving improvements in the coming weeks and is expected to cause delays in Thomasville.
The city says CSX is will be leading the improvements, and the first project began Wednesday at the crossing on East Pinetree Boulevard, near Metcalf Avenue.
"We are detouring citizens around the construction site using Metcalf Avenue and Smith Avenue," said City Engineer Jerry Pionessa. "Anyone who normally travels this stretch of Pinetree is advised to plan alternate routes and to expect possible traffic delays while work takes place."
The East Pinetree Boulevard project is expected to take one day, according to the city.
The second railroad crossing is located at West Jackson Street. The city says that the project will last from October 6th to the 8th.
Pionessa says that traffic will be detoured to Bartow Street, Fletcher Street and Remington Avenue.
