TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - One of the defenders of Florida A&M University's embattled president is being removed from the school's board of trustees.
The Florida Board of Governors on Thursday appointed Harold Mills to take the place of current trustee Cleve Warren. Warren last year became the FAMU board chairman following a power struggle that nearly resulted in the firing of current President Elmira Mangum.
A spokeswoman for the Board of Governors confirmed that Warren was one of 34 people who had applied for a spot on the trustees.
Warren, a former chief financial officer for Florida State College in Jacksonville, voted last October to keep Mangum as president. One of the motions to fire her died on a tie vote.
Mills, who is replacing Warren, is the former CEO of ZeroChaos.
