DECATUR Co., GA (WTXL) - A Decatur County man is in jail after deputies say his girlfriend was beaten so badly that she's now in critical condition.
Deputies say 37-year old Eddie Lewis Jr. attacked the woman with a weapon in front of her child at their home on Clear Lake Drive around 11 p.m. Sunday night.
They say when they arrived on scene the victim was covered in blood. She was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
Lewis turned himself in Monday morning and is being charged with aggravated battery, cruelty to a child in the first degree, and third degree.
