ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal is traveling the state touting pay raises for law enforcement, teachers and other new spending included in the state budget.

Deal plans to formally sign the spending plan on Tuesday but is highlighting portions of the budget Monday in metro Atlanta, Savannah and Dalton. The schedule also includes a stop in Deal's hometown of Gainesville, near the site of a new $42 million campus for Lanier Technical College in Hall County included in the budget.

Deal, a Republican, also plans to highlight funding for broadband at K-12 schools, money for technical college programs around the state and more than $1 billion in new construction including transportation projects.

The new budget kicks in July 1.
