1 Dead When RV Explodes After Hitting Tree on I-95 Exit Ramp

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. (AP) — One person is dead and another injured after a recreational vehicle crashed while exiting Interstate 95 and exploded.

The incident happened Monday afternoon near Ormond Beach.

Ormond Beach police spokesman Keith Walker says the person who died was a passenger in the RV and that the burns were so severe authorities couldn't determine the gender. The driver is a man between 40 and 50 years old. He was taken to a hospital with third-degree burns.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://bit.ly/1OdJp0U ) reports the RV hit a ditch on the southbound exit ramp before hitting a tree and bursting into flames.
