WAKULLA CO., Fla. (WTXL) - A Havana woman is dead and a Crawfordville woman is seriously injured after a multi car crash in Wakulla County.
It happened about 5:45pm on October 14, 2015 on SR-61 (US-319) at Millender Lane.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, two cars were going south on SR-61 and two cars were going north on SR-61.
When one of the drivers slowed down to turn into a driveway, the second car hit them from behind, then swerved into oncoming traffic, hitting a third car head-on. A fourth car swerved to avoid hitting the third car, but collided with the first car.
The drivers of the first two cars, 43-year old Nesly Fleurant of Orlando and 85-year old Benny Morton Lovell of Crawfordville, suffered minor injuries. The driver of the third car, 72-year-old Sandra Peavy Harrison of Havana, died on scene. The driver of the fourth car, 47-year-old Dawn Michelle Jefferson of Crawfordville sustained serious injuries.
Charges are pending.
