PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say three people are dead in the Florida Panhandle because of improper venting of a propane heater being used indoors.
Pensacola police said Thursday the victims of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning were a man, a woman and a 4-year-old boy. A 10-year-old boy survived and was being treated at a local hospital. Their names were not immediately released.
The Pensacola News Journal reported (http://on.pnj.com/1wE8QXl ) that investigators believe the poisoning was caused by a portable heater that was attached to a propane tank in the home without proper ventilation.
Autopsies are being performed to confirm that the deaths were caused by carbon monoxide. Foul play is not suspected.
