The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) will host more than 13 vendors at its Food Truck Fair on September 27, 2013 at DBPR headquarters in Tallahassee. The Northwood Centre is sponsoring the event, the Florida Lottery will be a special guest and live entertainment will be provided by the local band The Jimmy Gillis Band.
According to DBPR Secretary Ken Lawson, there are more than 3,200 licensed mobile food vendors statewide, and more than 80 in the Tallahassee area. Lawson says these businesses are regulated by the state and follow strict food safety and sanitation standards.
DBPR's headquarters is in the Northwood Centre located at 1940 North Monroe Street in Tallahassee. The fair will be held from 4:30pm to 7pm and is open to the public.
Participating vendors include Fat Mac's Café, Street Chefs, Fired Up Pizza, The Great American Sandwich Station, Mobi, Zahalla Grill, Turnover Café, Kubano!, Scott's Smokehouse, Tacos Gringos, Gourmet PB&J and Knawty Hawg.
