TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee resident and community leader, has filed to run for Leon County School Board District 3.
Darryl Jones filed to run for Leon County School Board District 3 on Tuesday.
Jones is a graduate of Florida A&M University and has served on the boards for the FAMU Way Committee, the PACE Center for Girls, and the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Foundation among others.
Jones currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Minority, Women and Small Business Enterprise Program within the Tallahassee Leon County Office of Economic Vitality.
"I've always been passionate about serving my community and its members. If given the chance to serve the people of Leon County's District 3, I will do so with the future and well-being of our children in mind. There's no other community more deserving of our efforts," said Jones.
Jones' campaign is devoted to creating a new era of academic achievement, school safety, and facilities conducive to learning for children attending school in District 3.
He says he is committed to addressing the achievement gap and serving as the voice of change for school aged children living in Southeast Tallahassee.
