TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - It looks like all that dancing at Florida State paid off!
Organizers of "Dance Marathon at FSU" announcing that they raised over $1.8 million this year.
In a post on their Facebook page, organizers thanked everyone who participated.
"Dance Marathon at FSU", a Miracle Network Dance Marathon, is a year-long effort that culminates into an annual 40-hour event, where more than 1,800 students stay awake and on their feet to raise money and awareness for local beneficiaries.
The money raised goes to providing treatment, research, medical care, and family education for children fighting disease.
Over the past 22 years "Dance Marathon at FSU" has raised nearly $9 million.
