LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The images of the flooded Texas Coast and nearby cities is compelling people from around the nation to give back. The growing list of people donating now includes Dez Bryant.
On Monday, the Lufkin native was challenged by teammate Ezekiel Elliot to give to the Salvation Army's relief fund. Elliot himself gave $21,000. On Tuesday night, Bryant tweeted "Accepted". Less than an hour later, Dez posted a copy of a digital receipt that showed he had donated $50,000.
Elliot has also challenged Dak Prescott and all Cowboy fans to do the same.
According to some economic reports, Harvey cold cause $30 Billions in damages. The Salvation Army says 100 percent of the funds raised will go back to disaster relief efforts.
