LEON COUNTY, Fl (WTXL) -- The Leon County Public Works Department anticipates a collapsed section of Tram Road near the Jefferson County border will be fixed by Wednesday or Thursday.

Tony Park, the Leon County Public Works Director, says a culvert and section of road collapsed on Saturday after storms brought heavy rain through the area.

The road closure begins at the border between Jefferson and Leon Counties and stretches approximately 3 miles east to W W Kelly Road.

Lamar Garner lives off Tram just east of W W Kelly.

"I thought, what is going (on) 'cause I know they've been been paving, resurfacing. So now I thought, well they're through with that so what's that got to do with it," said Garner.

Park says though the recent work in the area did not cause the culvert collapse. He says the culvert was pre-existing and the county was only resurfacing, not doing work below the pavement.
