Cuba Gooding Sr. Passes Away at 72

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Cuba Gooding Sr., who sang the 1972 hit "Everybody Plays the Fool," has died.

ABC News reports that the singer and father of Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. was found dead in a car on Thursday in the Woodland Hills section of Los Angeles. 

Before the 72-year-old passed, he dropped by the the WTXL station back in 2014. 

At that time, Gooding Sr. was getting prepared to have a benefit concert in Orlando during the Florida Classic. 

A portion of the proceeds were given to Florida A&M University and Bethune-Cookman University. 

ABC News reports that Coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter says the cause of death is under investigation, but drug paraphernalia and alcohol were found in the car parked on a busy street.
