TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Several railroad crossings are temporarily closed this week in Leon, Gadsden and Thomas counties for repair work.

Road crossings in Leon County impacted today, September 29, 2014 by CSX teams include East Call Street, the Apalachee Parkway overpass and the Lafayette Street overpass.

Tuesday, September 30, the road crossings to be impacted are Myers Park Drive, Gadsden Street, the Monroe Street overpass, Adams Street, Railroad Avenue and Seaboard Street.

Wednesday, Oct. 1, railroad crossings on Lipona Road and Mabry Street in Leon County will be impacted, along with Country Club Road in Havana.

On Thursday, Oct. 2, Eisenhower Street in Leon, along with Cutoff Road, Salem Road and Scotland Road in Gadsden County will be impacted.

In Thomasville, beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1, CSX will begin the first of two rail crossing improvement projects. The first project will be at the crossing on East Pinetree Boulevard, near Metcalf Avenue. It's expected to take one day to complete.

"We are detouring citizens around the construction site using Metcalf Avenue and Smith Avenue," said City Engineer Jerry Pionessa. "Anyone who normally travels this stretch of Pinetree is advised to plan alternate routes and to expect possible traffic delays while work takes place."
