TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Would you do 300 squats to celebrate Memorial Day?

Crossfits across the country are doing their annual Murph workout to honor fallen veterans.

The workout begins with a mile run, then 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats and ending with another mile run. Crossfit Tally trainers say it's all to honor the U. S. soldiers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

"There's a great amount of fitness that comes out of this," said Darien Gallian, a CrossFit Tallahassee Yoga instructor. "There's fortitude that comes from doing something this hard and making it through but most importantly it's to honor the people who give service to us and our country."

The workout is named in memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2005.
