(Simple Most)- Long-running CBS drama “Criminal Minds” will be coming to an end after 15 seasons on the air. The show is currently shooting its 14th season. The final season will reportedly have 10 episodes and is set to air during the 2019-2020 broadcast season.

The popular series celebrated its 300th episode this past October, at which time showrunner Erica Messer felt that the series still had a lot of life left in it yet.

“It is a world that has endless stories because it’s based on the psychology of human behavior — that’s endless,” Messer told E! News at the time. “As long as we have heroes who want to keep chasing the bad guys I feel like we could keep going, and going and going.”

“Criminal Minds” is among the longest-running shows in television history. It is tied with both “ER” and “CSI” in terms of longevity. Only a handful of shows have run longer: “Gunsmoke, ” “Law & Order,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “NCIS” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”

“It is the quintessential CBS hit,” Amy Reisenbach, CBS’ EVP current programs, told Deadline. “It speaks to everything we do best, which is air quality television. It has been successful not only on air but online, in syndication, internationally for ABC (Studios).”

The show announced the news via its official Twitter account. “Hey, #CriminalMinds fans—we’ve got big news. First, mark you calendar for the Season 14 finale, Feb 6 at 10/9c,” it wrote in a caption, alongside a photo of some of the cast and director. “Next, get ready for a momentous ride: Season 15 will be our epic final season.”

The final 10 episodes will reportedly air during the 2019-2020 television season. Fans have already started expressing their sadness over the news on Twitter.
