APALACHICOLA, Fla. (WTXL) -- A Franklin County woman charged with the murder of her mother was formally arraigned Tuesday.
Sandra Ann Loudermilk-Conkel, 46, was arrested December 15 for the murder of her mother, Cynthia Green, 68.
Loudermilk-Conkel is charged with second degree murder, but Assistant State Attorney Robin Myers says they're asking a Grand Jury for an indictment for First Degree Murder. In the state of Florida only grand juries can indict defendants on crimes punishable by the death penalty.
The grand jury is scheduled to take up the matter on January 30.
Green's body was found December 12, 2012 in the area of State Road 30A. Franklin County deputies say the investigation is still on going and have yet to release how Green was killed or a possible motivate.
Apalachicola Times newspaper reports Green was employed by FL Dept. of Corrections as a senior LPN at the Franklin Correctional Institution in Carrabelle.
"Ms. Green was a very private person. She pretty much stayed to herself," said Bernard Simmons, a friend of Green's.
Loudermilk-Conkel is being held at the Franklin County jail without bond.
