Crime stoppers tip leads to LCSO drug arrest

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – A wanted man is finally behind bars after a tip led deputies to arrest him on meth possession charges.

On Thursday, deputies were following up on a Crime Stoppers tip at a home on Farley Lane. According to court documents, the tip alleged 38-year-old Michael Jones was in possession of meth.

He was already wanted by investigators for possession of meth.

Documents say Jones arrived at the home later that night. When deputies pulled behind his pick up truck, they saw Jones run behind the house.

Deputies ran after Jones and eventually arrested him. They then searched his truck and found a pack of cigarettes which contained a bag of meth.

Investigators also found a glass smoking pipe and a black fabric bag that contained syringes, digital scales and numerous small plastic bags while searching the trunk.

According to documents, Jones was transported to the Leon County Detention Facility where he faces multiple charges including possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
