CRAWFORDVILLE, FL (WTXL) - Deputies are saying they've arrested a Crawfordville man accused of kidnapping a woman on Saturday.

William Gerald Anderson, 42, is accused of kidnapping a 32 year-old Crawfordville woman.

Wakulla County Sheriff's Deputies say Anderson kidnapped her "after expressing concern about her dating another person."

Deputies say Anderson forced the woman to leave her home at gun point. He then took her to his house on Bream Fountain Road, wouldn't let her leave and is said to have wrapped a rope around her neck.

The victim convinced Anderson to take her home to get her belongings and jumped out of the car when it was stopped at an intersection, authorities say. She was able to get help from a nearby resident.

Anderson was arrested during a traffic stop where Deputies found a CO2 powered BB gun, a butcher knife and rope.

Deupties say Anderson has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill; felony battery by strangulation; kidnapping; burglary with assault; burglary of a dwelling; and driving while license is suspended or revoked.
