JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Two people are dead after a crash on I-10 near Cottondale.
The Florida Highway Patrol says that the accident occurred around 12 p.m. on Wednesday. It happened on I-10 near mile marker 130/U.S. 231.
They say a 2014 Chevrolet 2500 HD driven by Herman Carter, was merging on I-10 from the westbound ramp when the driver lost control, traveling into the path of a dump truck.
The dump truck then hit the Chevy, causing the front of the dump truck to hit the driver's side of the Chevy.
Both Herman Carter and the passenger, Patricia Carter, in the Chevy were pronounced dead on scene. The dump truck driver, Clifford Branch, was uninjured.
FHP says charges are pending further investigation.
