LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Lafayette County man is dead after his car slammed head on, into a semi truck in Mayo.
Florida Highway Patrol said that the crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 27 at County Road 534.
Troopers say the victim, Brian Wallace was avoiding stopped traffic and swerved into the southbound lane of U.S. 27, right into the path of the semi truck.
Wallace's car overturned while the semi jackknifed and landed on top of Wallace's car.
Wallace was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the semi was taken to Shands UF hospital for serious injuries.
Troopers say charges are pending the investigation.
