CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WTXL) - A couple is behind bars after deputies found them passed out at a Florida gas station with a 3-year-old in the backseat.
Amanda Hatton, 23, and Jared Smith, 31, were arrested by the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office after they were found passed out at a Crestview gas station Monday night.
Both were unresponsive when they were found and authorities note several dangerous items, to include uncapped needles, meth and Oxycodone, were easily within the child's reach.
Deputies learned that the pair had been passed out for nearly two hours. Luckily, the 3-year-old was also sleeping during that time.
Hatton and Smith were charged with child neglect, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
