LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County Commissioners are inviting public comments about closing a "gun show loophole."

Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to pass a motion to have a public hearing to discuss ways to close a gun show loophole.

They met to discuss a possible county ordinance that would require background checks for those wishing to buy guns. The changes would also impose a five-day waiting period.

Gun control advocates, members of Moms Demand Action and Justice 850 packed the meeting.

The public hearing is set for April 10.
