LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County commissioner Bill Proctor is calling for the development of a new police station to be on hold because of lack of space for residents to walk in the South City community.

Commissioner Bill Proctor says a brand new facility would be an insult to the community because that money isn't going toward sidewalks, places for people to sit down, or bus stops.

He says there's high pedestrian foot traffic in the area, and suggests expanding the streets to look like Myers Park.

Commissioner Proctor says he wants better for the Southside communities, with infrastructure improvements.
