Could There Be Format Changes to Future GOP Debates?

TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Republican Presidential Candidate Ben Carson visited Tallahassee Monday, but he wasn't on the campaign trail.

He was in the capital city for a signing event for his book.

However, that doesn't mean he didn't miss the chance to talk about some of the biggest issues on the campaign trail, including changing the formats of future GOP debates. Carson says he and other GOP candidates recently came together to agree on proposed changes: "Well, we're making progress and that's the key. To make progress, you first have to sit down and you have to talk and you have to get everybody's views. There's so general agreements on things. This is the beginning of the process and hopefully will result in a situation where we have debates that are actually beneficial to the American people. Actually help them to get a sense of who they are and what's behind us."

WTXL's Jade Bulecza sat down with political contributor Trimmel Gomes Monday on the news at six to discuss what possible changes could be coming to debates. To see more, watch the video above.
