CAIRO, Ga. (WTXL) — The superintendent of Grady County School District, Dr. Kermit Gilliard said an entire Pre-K class was sent home from Southside Elementary School in Cairo on Friday after one student tested positive for the coronavirus.
Gilliard said 22 students, a teacher, and a paraprofessional will quarantine until September 29.
A four-year-old student who attended the class on Monday took a COVID-19 test on Tuesday. They got the results back Friday showing the student had COVID-19. Everyone who was in that class sent home to quarantine as a precaution.
The students are from Northside Elementary school, but were currently at Southside for classes due to social distancing.
