NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a man suspected of abducting and killing an elderly couple found inside their burned-out car in Ohio last month is believed to have committed armed robberies over the weekend in three states.
Twenty-nine-year-old Robert Clark is suspected of committing two robberies Saturday in West Virginia, one Sunday afternoon in South Carolina and one Sunday night in Georgia.
Clark is wanted on a murder charge in the deaths of Doyle and Lillian Chumney in Strasburg. The elderly couple was reported missing Jan. 21, and their bodies were found the next day. The couple's home had been ransacked.
A second suspect in the Chumneys' killings was arrested Saturday. Police say 21-year-old Jeffery Stewart implicated Clark in the slayings.
Police say Clark should be considered armed and dangerous.
