PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. (AP) - A victim's scream and her brother's quick actions helped Pembroke Pines police track down a 20-year-old man suspected of kidnapping and attempted rape.
Sayyid Khan remained in the Broward County Jail Thursday. Police say he tried to fulfill a longtime fantasy of kidnapping a stranger.
The Miami Herald reports Khan followed a woman home Tuesday. When she got of the car, he blocked her path and pointed a gun at her.
He ordered her into his car but her screams alerted her brother. He memorized the license plate and called police.
Khan drove for hour, but eventually stopped and ordered the woman into the backseat. She got the gun and tried to fire, and escaped.
Meanwhile, police were waiting at his Miramar home, where he was arrested.
