Construction Popping Up Around Tallahassee

Posted

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.(WTXL) - Summer is here and that means vacation time for most Florida State, Florida A&M, and Tallahassee Community College students.  With the decrease in activity and traffic, the City of Tallahassee and TCC plans on making the best of it.

Several construction and renovation projects are in the works.  COT closed roads in the area of Bradford road and West Pensacola street to install a roundabout as well as parts of Gaines street with west bound traffic for private contractors to begin work on a new apartment complex.

TCC is also taking advantage of the relative calm.  Renovations on the second floor of the library will begin next week.  With a grant and funds matched by the college, a new desk center, carpets, and computers will be added to the library.

Communications Director Alice Maxwell said the summer allows them to work on projects on and off campus without disturbing the learning efforts of the students.  She said library renovations should be completed by the end of the summer.
