TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Construction along Gaines Street in Tallahassee continues this week.
City Officials say you can expect to see small islands installed for the roundabout. One more storm drain will be installed, which will cause a temporary water outage for some businesses. The city says they will notify those who will be impacted by the water outage.
Those wanting to travel straight through Gaines Street between Railroad and Stadium/Lake Bradford will be detoured. Drivers have to go north to Pensacola or west to St. Augustine, depending on the direction of travel. Business owners say they are struggling with the street closures, despite the area still being open for access to businesses and homes.
Construction is expected to be completed in August.
