TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida A&M University (FAMU) is gearing up for their home opener this weekend against Tennessee State, but the school is worried about the impact a road closure near campus could have on game day traffic as fans travel to Bragg Memorial Stadium.

A roundabout is being constructed as a part of the FAMU Way Extension Project, which will eventually extend FAMU Way to Lake Bradford Road.

Once it's complete, the City of Tallahassee says it will serve as a signature entry way onto FAMU.

The closure starting Tuesday, will impact those trying to get to Bragg Memorial Stadium.

Carrie Poole with the City of Tallahassee, says they are currently working on a new traffic pattern that will hopefully alleviate these concerns before Saturday's game.

It's a temporary inconvenience," said Poole. "We hope folks will appreciate seeing the area, especially people that are alumni or fans that are coming from out of town. We hope that they're excited and can remember what it used to look like and appreciate the changes in the area and the improvements."

The construction is expected to be complete by October 15, 2015, just in time for the Rattler Homecoming festivities.

The official plans for the new pattern up until then, are expected to be announced mid-week.
