TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Today people are learning about how different species of plants and animals can alter the environment in Florida.
The "Tallahassee Senior Center" held a workshop today as a continuation of their series to discuss the impact different plants and animals can play in the ecosystem.
Speakers discussed the "Lion fish" and its impact on Florida's waterways.
Today's workshop focused on a smaller part of the environment and the ripple effect it can have when it's changed.
Mark Tancig with the "Florida Extension Office" talked about several insects including the "Red Bay ambrosia beetle" which is impacting Florida's avocado industry.
He says it is good to know what these insects can do to the environment to help protect future outbreaks.
