TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - It's the second meeting of many still to come to combat a growing problem throughout the City of Tallahassee and surrounding areas. Tallahassee gun violence is second only to Miami in the state, per-capita and police Chief Michael Deleo is vowing to do something about it.
Chief Deleo, along with other community members are taking action against rising crime in the area. The 15 member "community leadership council on gun violence" is in charge of outlining what areas of the community need help, and what resources are needed.
Thursday an open forum was geared at coming up a plan that will make a difference. The goal is to develop solutions to specific areas.
The next meeting is to be announced.
