FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Franklin County Sheriff's Office honored the life of Bruce Maynor Monday.
Last April, Maynor drowned while rescuing a little boy at St. George Island.
Family members say he died a hero when he jumped into the water to save a boy who began to drift away. The 29-year-old father of two drowned once the current became too strong.
Now, his family and local law enforcement say they hope a sign posted on the beach in his honor will serve as a reminder to beach goers to be safe and aware of beach conditions.
