TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Dozens came together for the fourth annual Walk Like MADD event Saturday.

"Rusty was my dad he was killed in a accident by a drunk driver and he was my best friend," said Jessica Fowler, who's walking for her father.

Memories of friends, family and loved ones drew more than 100 people from the community together to the Walk Like MADD event.

"It allowed me to kind of get out there to express my feelings as well to walk in memory of my son and get to fellowship and be around other people that are going through what we're going through," said Tracey Biggins, who's walking for her son.

This year's walk was dedicated to three Florida State students who lost their lives in Tallahassee in a DUI crash in 2015.

"We're here in Tallahassee, we're doing it at FSU and it just made sense to dedicate it to them because their families they don't have their loved ones anymore and this shouldn't be happening to students who had their whole lives ahead of them," said Kristin Allen of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

The Walk Like MADD event is making an impact to prevent others from losing a loved one to drunk driving, one step at a time.

MADD reached their goal of raising $22,000 at this year's event.
