QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) - Jefferson, Adams and Monroe streets with presidential names are nothing new in Quincy.
The North Florida town is about to add another commander in chief to the map.
South Atlanta Street intersects with Martin Luther King Boulevard in Quincy and extends outside the city limits into Gadsden County, making the renaming a joint effort between the city and county.
It's a move that commissioner Brenda Holt says, will bring posterity for the community.
This Tuesday the Gadsden County Board of Commissioners will vote to rename South Atlanta Street to Barack Obama Boulevard.
The estimated cost of the renaming is about $1,000.
If approved, Holt hopes a new roundabout will soon be installed along the newly renamed Barack Obama Boulevard.
