TALLAHASSEE Fla.-- After being removed from the agenda just hours before a City of Tallahassee Commission Meeting last month, city leaders are expected to discuss a settlement with the family of a man killed by a Tallahassee Police Department Officer in 2014.

Duane Strong Junior was shot by an officer while trying to drive out of the Cheeks Nightclub parking lot in May of 2014.

Police say he was speeding towards the officer, who fired because he feared for his life.

Strong's family filed a civil lawsuit in 2015 and are asking for a $325,000 settlement.

Commissioners are expected to vote at a Wednesday meeting on whether to settle the lawsuit or continue on to a June 2016 trial date.
