ATLANTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Statement from GHSA:
"After discussions about the weather conditions with Mercedes-Benz Stadium officials, the GHSA is announcing that all of Saturday's state championship football games have been postponed. There were hopes on Friday that at least two of the four scheduled Saturday games might be played, but melting snow around the stadium and then the expected refreeze later in the day when fans would be driving home were just too much of a concern.
The postponed games will be played at a date to be determined and fans should hold onto their tickets, as those tickets will be honored when the postponed games are made up.
We regret very much not being able to play our full schedule of championship games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, but GHSA’s priority is the safety of teams and fans traveling to and from the game."
