NAPLES, Fla. (AP) - A man has been arrested on suspicion of firing a gun at a Collier County sheriff's deputy during a vehicle pursuit.
The Naples Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/1QZKrzc) that 31-year-old Brione Lamar Joiner was arrested Tuesday on several charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer, in connection with a November incident.
Detectives say the deputy was driving a marked sheriff's office SUV and tried to stop a Buick sedan for speeding on State Road 29 near Interstate 75. Joiner was allegedly driving the sedan, fled and fired shots at the deputy. The deputy was uninjured.
The Buick was later found abandoned, and was traced back to Joiner's girlfriend, Stacy Lopez.
After a lengthy investigation, detectives got a warrant for Joiner's arrest Tuesday and he was arrested without incident.
It's unclear if Joiner has an attorney.
