MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - In this segment of COCA Connection, we're talking about a punk rock opera that ruled Broadway.
Erica Thaler, with the Council on Culture & Arts, and Aron Wesolowski joined us to talk about the punk rock musical, Green Day's American Idiot, at Theatre Tallahassee.
Based on the Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum album, it was turned into a musical and put on Broadway from 2010 to 2011.
Wesolowski says it's a show about three kids growing up in the suburbs and they're kind of disenfranchised with the state of America, suburbia, falling into that routine and so they try to break away from that.
It will be at Theatre Tallahassee from July 13-15 and July 20-22. Tickets for adults will be $20 and for seniors and students tickets will be $18.
