MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - In this segment of COCA Connection, we're talking about Hairspray: The Broadway Musical.
Erica Thaler, with the Council on Culture & Arts, and Jessica Lea Patty, the Director and Choreographer of Hairspray: The Broadway Musical, joined us to talk about the musical.
In the musical, Tracy Turnblad is a loveable, plus-sized teen with big hair and an even bigger heart who has always dreamed of dancing on “Corny Collins Show.”
When her bold moves catch Corny Collin’s eye, she is transformed overnight from a nobody to a celebrity and begins to break the mold and challenge the social prejudices of race and beauty as she seeks to integrate the show, the city, and perhaps, the world.
Shows begin Feb. 15 and will run through Feb. 24. at the Fallon Theatre.
Adult tickets are $22, senior tickets (62+) are $20, and children and college tickets are $10.
