U.S coast guard crews from Cortez and Clearwater worked hand-in-hand to save four lives from the flooding boat over the weekend.

According to coast guards, a 75-foot boat sank and the 32-foot boat it was towing started taking on water.

On Saturday morning at 7:20 a.m., coast guards received a mayday call from the smaller boat, the John Deer Green, about the incident.

A boat crew from the Cortez station and a helicopter crew from the Clearwater station

found the vessel about 19 miles west of Egmont Key.

The Cortez crew managed to tow the smaller boat and take the people who had been aboard it to the marina in Bradenton Beach.

The air crew from Clearwater deployed a rescue swimmer with a dewatering pump.

No one was injured in this rescue.
