TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Clergy members, veterans and community leaders are gathering in Tallahassee to ask the legislature to expand healthcare coverage to uninsured Floridians.

Leaders from the faith-based PICO United Florida plan to pray Monday on behalf of all those without health insurance. And they will ask members of the Florida House to follow Gov. Rick Scott's position supporting Medicaid expansion.

The Florida House has proposed a bill that would pass up billions of federal dollars to provide coverage to 115,000 uninsured Floridians. The House bill would rely on state taxpayer funds instead of an estimated $51 billion dollars available under the Affordable Care Act over the next decade. It would also cover thousands fewer residents.

Scott has slammed the House plan.
