WAKULLA CO., Fla. (WTXL) -- A woman accused of stealing from the homes she was being paid to clean has turned turned herself in.

The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office confirms Pamela Schmitt surrendered to authorities around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and has since bonded out of jail.

Original story:

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Detectives are looking for a woman who they said used a maid service business to steal thousands of dollars worth of stuff from her clients.

Deputies are looking for 45-year-old Pamela Schmitt and are asking anyone who knows where she is at to call the Leon County Sheriff's Office at (850) 606-5800.

Detectives said that on several occasions, since at least January 2015, Schmitt was at three different homes that hired Absolute Maid Service. In each of those cases, cash and jewelry have been stolen, said deputies.

Detectives said that in each of those cases Schmitt was confronted by the victims. After the confrontation, Schmitt returned some of the items to the victims, according to investigators.  However, it is believed that Schmitt has stolen in excess of $6,000 worth of jewelry during these incidents, most of which has not been recovered.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Pamela Schmitt is requested to contact the Leon County Sheriff's Office at (850) 606-5800 or Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS (8477). Remember, Crime Stoppers does not want your name, just your information. You could be eligible for up to a $1,000.00 reward.
