TALLAHASSEE, FLA (WTXL) - City commissioners have agreed to pay almost half million dollars to settle this lawsuit, after Christina west sustained significant facial injuries by Tallahassee police officers.
However, many people have been expressing their concerns about the commission's decision on the WTXL Facebook page. The city will need to file a claim in federal court.
If the settlement were a state law negligent claim, there would be the $300,000 cap; and the commission would have to go before the legislature for special approval. However it is a federal claim, so there is no cap.
