TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Utility customers with the City of Tallahassee can expect lower bills for the upcoming fiscal year.

The City projected that typical electric bills for households will go down 2.3 percent and that natural gas bills will drop 2.5 percent. The Deputy City Manager credits the decrease to the city commission's goals to make utilities environmentally-friendly and fuel-efficient.

The City also said utility customers should expect their next bill to be lower compared to typical ones, due to the power outages from Hurricane Hermine. Officials said they were working with customers who are unable to pay existing bills due to wages lost during the storm.
